The Billion Dollar Bet for Her Heart
Chapter 1
I have been reborn three times. In each life, I chose to marry one of my three childhood sweethearts. And in every life, that decision ended in disaster—the same woman brought ruin to my family, no matter which man I chose.
In this life, the three boys I grew up with are once more placing bets on who I'll pick.
"I'm betting one million that Victoria will pick me. She's been tagging along since we were kids," one said proudly.
"I'll raise you to ten million. She cried when she gave me a blood transfusion after I got hurt," the second added.
Before the third could say anything, I smirked, pushed open the door, and said, "I bet 20 million that I'll marry Thomas."
They all reacted. "What? That's insane! Thomas? That guy's like a heartless demon—cold, ruthless, completely terrifying! Are you serious, Victoria?"
But it was Thomas Patnick, the man known as the demon, who gave up his billions of wealth just to lie beside me in my frozen coffin for eternity.

In the study, my father looked serious. "Victoria, are you really planning to marry Thomas?"
I nodded. "Yes, I've made up my mind."
He looked worried. "Thomas has always been distant and cold. There are rumors... that he's impotent, mentally unstable, and even tortures his subordinates. If you go through with this, your life may be filled with suffering..."
I smiled calmly. "IVF is highly advanced these days. What matters most to me is the Patnick family's power and influence."
My father sighed. "If this is truly your choice, I'll get in touch with the Patnick family right away."
Suddenly, the door opened, and Maverick walked in.
He was dressed in a neat suit and holding a bouquet of flowers. "Victoria, is it true you're marrying Thomas? Are you joking?"
I looked at him blankly. "Mr. Standifer, whom I marry isn't your concern."
His face turned stiff. "Our companies are supposed to sign a contract next month. What you're doing now is forcing us to pull our investment."
I tilted my head and said, "Isn't my Froning Group the one providing the money for your project anyway?"
His face went pale. "Victoria Froning, you'll regret this!"
He stormed out, slamming the door behind him. I closed my eyes, and my memories from my past lives came back.
In my first life, I married Maverick Standifer. But after three years, he never once touched me.
He even wore gloves to bed because his obsession with cleanliness made him avoid any kind of contact.
If even one of my hair landed on his clothes, he would change his whole outfit right away.
I used to foolishly believe he acted this way around all women.
But then, one night, I caught him pleasuring himself with a picture of his college classmate, Sienna Adelson.
Later, Sienna moved into the Standifer family with her big belly.
The cruelest part? The man who never let me near him was catching Sienna's morning sickness with his bare hands.
The hands that never touched me gently wiped her mouth, and the way they looked at each other was full of love.
I was disheartened. From then on, I buried myself in my job.
Eventually, I discovered Sienna was secretly moving the Standifer family's assets. When I confronted them, Maverick shoved me off the top floor.
As I fell, the last thing I saw was Thomas running toward me in a panic. That became the final image I remembered.
The loud ringing of the doorbell snapped me out of my thoughts. Rowan Landis had arrived, bringing rare herbs with him. He was my husband in my second life.
"Victoria, is it true you're marrying Thomas?" he asked with soft concern in his voice.
"I heard Thomas has some serious health issues," he added.
I gave a cold smile. "Dr. Landis, since when do you care so much about me?"
He froze for a second and said, "The new medicine jointly developed by Landis Pharmaceuticals and the Froning Group will be released soon."
I cut him off right away, "Haven't there been a bunch of problems with your family's products lately? What's the result of the Food and Drug Administration's investigation?"
Rowan's face changed suddenly. "You're taking it the wrong way. I'm just concerned about you..."
I made him leave, then squatted to the floor, holding back the pain.
In my second life, I picked Rowan as my husband. Our married life was as uneventful and still as calm water.
While I was pregnant, Sienna appeared as a patient and found ways to get close to him.
Because of what happened in my past life, I stayed alert around her, but I also tried hard to make our marriage work.
When it was time to give birth, Rowan was the one doing the surgery.
Halfway through, a nurse came in and gave him a phone. "Ms. Adelson tripped and cut her leg," she said.
Right away, he took off his surgical clothes and ran out without saying a word.
He left the surgery unfinished and shocked the other doctors.
"Dr. Landis! The operation isn't done yet! Ms. Victoria is still in danger!" someone shouted.
The new doctor didn't have enough experience, so both my baby and I passed away in the operating room.
Just before I lost consciousness, I heard Rowan talking to Sienna, "Don't worry, it's just a little scrape.
"Victoria? It's better she's dead. Now I can give you a proper name."
After I died, it was Thomas who buried me and my child beside my mother's grave.
From the start, both of them only agreed to marry me because it helped their families.
Chapter 2
I chose to visit the Patnick family. After all, I had never met Thomas in this lifetime.
When I left my house, a car suddenly pulled up beside me, and some strong men quickly covered my mouth and nose.
When I opened my eyes again, everything around me was quiet.
"Are you awake?" A familiar voice came from the dark.
The lights turned on, stinging my eyes.
Arthur Ledford was standing in front of me, looking at me with a complicated expression.
"You're committing a crime," I said in a cold voice.
He knelt down and gently touched my cheek with his fingers.
"Victoria, don't marry Thomas. I want to marry you."
I turned my face away from his hand. "You kidnapped me just to say that?"
"I truly love you," he said, his eyes full of honesty like never before.
My heart shook because I knew he was telling the truth.
In my third life, I married him, and he loved me deeply.
He would do anything I wanted to make me happy.
If anything upset me, he would quietly fix it all.
But that was before Sienna appeared.
Since Sienna became his secretary, I had felt very uneasy.
At a charity auction, Sienna and I both wanted the same necklace.
It was a family heirloom that my late mother had pawned for my father.
As I kept bidding higher, Arthur decided to bid to the very end for Sienna.
Memories from my past two lives suddenly came back.
I slapped Sienna hard.
Arthur didn't get mad at me.
But, the following day, he agreed to Sienna's plan for revenge and allowed countless underlings to insult me.
I collapsed into a pool of blood, and Sienna grabbed my right hand, saying, "Victoria, you hit me with this hand—it really hurt..."
After that, he told others to pull out my fingernails one at a time.
Then they shared the photos and videos of me being tortured online, selling them for just one dollar.
My father got so furious that he had a heart attack and passed away in the hospital. After being tortured for three whole days and nights by those two, I was thrown into the ocean.
Thomas found my body and gathered proof to help put them in jail.
"Victoria, have you made up your mind?" Arthur's voice cut me off.
Before I could answer, his phone rang. After a moment of silence, he told someone to untie my hands. "Dad called. Victoria, you should think about it carefully!"
I wriggled my wrist, and my phone started ringing.
"Victoria, please come back soon."
Arthur took me back home. The parents from the Standifer family, the Landis family, and the Ledford family were all there.
The three fathers surrounded me in the main hall.
"Victoria, your father and we are best buddies.
"How could you leave our son and choose someone else?"
Rowan's father, George Landis, adjusted his gold glasses and acted like he cared.
"Thomas's health and personality will ruin the happiness of your entire future."
Arthur's father, Jasper Ledford, even openly mocked Thomas without trying to hide it.
"With his condition, do you really want to marry him and end up living as a widow?
Maverick's father, Peter Standifer, spoke with a threatening tone, "Our four great families have always been closely connected. Now that you've suddenly linked yourself to the Patnick family, it will definitely harm our future business deals."
I looked at the three fathers with a cold smile.
Through three cycles of reborn, their sons were the ones who caused my death.
As parents, they didn't stop it. Instead, they took advantage of taking over my family's assets.
This time, neither their son's marriage nor the family business will go smoothly!
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and the butler brought in a distinguished man in a wheelchair.
Thomas's expression was serious.
His gaze swept over the three fathers before resting on me.
His eyes immediately softened.
"Sir, don't worry about Ms. Froning's marriage."
His voice was low and strong.
"The partnership between the Froning Group and the Patnick Group has long been strategically planned. This marriage is merely the finishing touch."
He pulled out a paper and gestured for his assistant to hand it to them.
"This is the official cooperation agreement between the Froning Group and the Patnick Group.
"If the marriage contract is completed successfully, any business actions against the Froning Group will be seen as an offense against the Patnick Group."
"Also, the previous investment risks the Froning Group took with the three families will now be reassessed entirely by Ms. Froning and me."
Hearing this, the three fathers suddenly looked pale. After all, much of the money in their companies was recently put into joint projects with the Froning Group.
Watching the sweat forming on the three men's foreheads, I grinned. Compared to what these families did to me and my family before, this is only the start of my revenge!
Chapter 3
The following day, the news about Thomas and me getting engaged was everywhere in the media.
The Froning Group's stock went up because of it.
I stood by the window, looking down at everything inside the Froning Group, then lowered my gaze, lost in thought.
Even though Thomas and I have met, I can't be careless.
In my past three lives, those three men loved me, but all of them were eventually taken in by Sienna. Can Thomas really keep his promises this time?
My father stood nearby, holding his phone and smiling broadly.
"Victoria, the Patnick family sent the details for the engagement ceremony."
He gave me a pretty gift box with a letter on top, written by hand.
Inside was a delicate Bluemoon crystal necklace.
I opened the letter and saw Thomas's neat, bold handwriting.
My heart skipped a beat, and I carefully put the letter away.
Suddenly, a phone call broke my thoughts.
"Ms. Froning, someone is here to see you," said the hotel front desk.
I walked into the lobby and saw those three familiar people.
Rowan's eyes were cold. "Do you really want to marry that demon?"
I turned to leave, but Arthur grabbed my wrist and said, "Don't leave so fast."
"Let go! We have nothing left to say," I said, pulling my hand free.
Maverick gave a cold laugh.
"We came here just to warn you that your fiancé is now bewitched by another woman."
Sienna? She was the first name that came to my mind.
"What do you mean?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm.
Maverick said casually, "My college classmate Sienna Adelson is now working as the marketing consultant for the Patnick family and spends a lot of time alone with Thomas."
Rowan whispered in my ear, "I heard she dresses very attractively, and Thomas really likes it."
I pushed them away and left the hotel.
When I got home, I quickly looked into Sienna's background.
Sure enough, she had joined the Patnick Group and was appointed by the board of directors.
I called Thomas, but his assistant answered.
"Ms. Froning, Mr. Patnick has been very busy with work lately. He's not available to meet you at the moment."
I thought to myself, biting my lip to hold back tears.
"Is this because of Sienna?"
A week passed, and Thomas still hadn't reached out.
With the engagement coming soon, I couldn't stop myself from going to the Patnick Group to see him personally.
Late at night, only the top floor of the Patnick Group was still glowing with light.
I quietly took the elevator to the upper floor.
Right as I stepped out, I heard a woman laughing softly from the office.
"Mr. Patnick, you're way too tense. Relax a bit. You're hurting me there..."
After three lifetimes, I recognized that voice as Sienna's.
Peeking through the slightly open door, I saw Sienna leaning against Thomas—their posture intimate.
She grabbed his thin hand and placed it on her slim waist, whispering with her red lips, "What's so special about Victoria? I can offer you just as much..."
Sienna's chest pressed closer and closer. "You're not married yet, so there's still time to change everything."
When Thomas didn't react, she pulled out her phone and said, "Look at this, what do you think?"
I couldn't make out what was on the screen, but Thomas's face turned very conflicted.
I quickly pushed the door open.
"Did I interrupt?" I asked, trying to stay calm.
A proud look briefly flashed across Sienna's face.
Ignoring her challenge, I stared at Thomas and said, "Is this what you've been up to?"
Sienna immediately put on a pitiful act. "Ms. Froning, please don't misunderstand, Mr. Patnick and I are just..."
"That's enough! That's always how you start, every single time," I cut her off.
Then I turned to Thomas and asked, "Are we still getting married or not?"
The office became completely silent.
Thomas exhaled slowly and gave me a look full of mixed feelings.
Sienna acted as if she were innocent and asked, "Mr. Patnick, after looking at these photos, do you still plan to marry Ms. Froning?"
